Hi guys! Today we have a guest. Yes! We have an online guest here on TPA VAs and she will be subjecting herself to the #30DaystoFreelance Challenge! Mich is one of my VAs before but when her nanny left her and since her hands were full that time, she decided to leave. Now yours truly will be helping her out and we’ll be following her throughout her journey to make sure she will be on the right track. Being a mother of a toddler and living with her grandma makes her prone to all the distractions in the world. So let’s help her do this!
A message coming from Mich:
Hello fellow freelancer newbies! Thank you for checking this out.
I’ve been working in the BPO industry for quite some time. I’m a single mom to a 3-year old. Living a hand-to-mouth existence. Which was cool to be honest. I was content and enjoying the little things in my life. Until my son’s yaya had to go home. Eto na, umpisa na ng mga paghihirap hahaha. Yun nga, just one of your typical Filipina employee stories. Going for a world that I’m not certain of just beats the hell out of me. This has been a bold initiative on my part. And I’m going all-out! I wanna make this happen. So, I teamed up with my friend RJ, who’s been a freelancer since 2013 and is now an owner of a virtual assistance provider company. She agreed to become my accountability partner on this challenge I’m about to do. Naks!
This 30-day challenge will give me that extra push I have been needing to go full-on with online freelancing. And I encourage any other newbie who’s been having the same thoughts and struggles like mine to take part in this challenge. Let’s go for the #30DaysToFreelance!
Please listen to Mich Goes Virtual pilot episode.
Update:
When Mich followed up with the internet provider regarding her net application, there was an issue regarding her address and she can’t have any internet connection set up or connected to their house, so it’s a big no no for her on the virtual career. So sad… She went back to work in the BPO industry. Maybe when the time comes and they’d settle the issue with the internet providers or if she decided to purchase her own house, then we can continue this. For the meantime, this is on hold. Mich Goes VIrtual now goes on indefinite leave with the online industry. See you later Mich!
